Thought Leaders (@shervin) Come Full Circle And Want Small Govt On Fake News $TWTR

After decades of listening to, and discounting conservatives for a small central government with more local control the election of Donald Trump has made them realize the folly of their ways.

Drake Baer, writing in The Science of Us for New York Mag notes the following,

The most radical idea Barber proposes is that maybe, just maybe, more of the tax dollars generated in cities should serve the municipality — and the homeless, poor, and otherwise disadvantaged living there — rather than being siphoned off to Washington.

Ironically, this is an old conservative talking-point: less national power, more local power. But in this case, it’s not about keeping gun rights; it’s social services. The path of effective resistance would be through greater unity among American cities and their governments. “It’s one thing for Washington to say it’s not going to do health care and social safety nets,” Barber says, “it’s another to say we will not let cities do it.”

I for one would fully support San Francisco having the money and the will to tax their homeless problem which rages as unions and politics gets in the way of importing Chinese steel.

However for the identitarian political leaders of the Democrats, it’s not about evaluating local needs and local control, it’s about division, gaining that 50% +1 vote (ignoring electoral college math for now) to win that election and have the power.

Thus those on the left are stuck blaming Midwesterners, who used to create the steel that they could have used to fix their homelessness, for being “baskets of deplorables” that if only they had voted THE RIGHT WAY would have won Hillary the election.

I believe the old adage is, “you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.”

However for the Democrats, and their activists like Randi Lee Harper, Briann Wu and countless others abuse and attacks on twitter and social media of their self declared political enemies has been the order of the day, for years.

You can in fact pin some of the blame for Hillary’s loss in the election on the Democrats activists and Jack Dorsey, who gave them free run for years to abuse people.

The local leaders of Oakland and San Francisco are unable or unwilling (nothing is stopping San Francisco and Oakland from taxing more) to fix fix their schools, leaving inner city children trapped in failing schools.

Yet the idea of “local control” has been abhorrent to the very people that now bemoan their fates, suffer riots from disaffected voters, and wish for smaller government.

And instead of now reevaluating their positions many in tech in California wish to secede from the Union, convinced that California is better off alone.

Or calling for a white ethno state…

Meanwhile outside the self imposed tech bubble of Silicon Valley and social media, most Americans realize that Donald Trump is not as bad as media made him out to be (neither is Hillary Clinton) and simply hope for a functional government.

Hating the people that tried to tell them smaller, far off government is generally better, these people wish to have their cake and eat it, too.

Only when the elitists in their tech bubble in Silicon Valley fear that large government will they act to stop it.

If only they had listened to people tried to tell them that a large centralized government isn’t the best solution to your problems.

I am very happy Shervin was able to immigrate here during the Iranian Revolution.  I would thank him not to try to rip me, a resident of the Central Valley, away from my own country.

And people like Senior Editor David Frum of The Atlantic?  Not getting his way means it’s the end of the world.

The same thing was done to Ronald Reagan after he won, and the media painted doomsday scenarios.

Nothing to really see here, folks.  Just another day on fake news King, Twitter.

Twitter wonders why they aren’t growing and have a reputation for both abuse and fake news.
