Dear @Jack, @Vijaya, Why Is Politician Brianna Wu Able To Have People Suspended? $TWTR #Politics

I woke up today, suspended on my twitter account, @Wanderinpoet.

I wasn’t sure why until I was forwarded a @Mic report that Brianna Wu, candidate for District 8 in Massachusetts, tweeted.

It must be nice to have backchannel access to twitter support and journalists who take your word, sight unseen.

I have no idea why this journalist didn’t contact me, since my blog was referenced.

Given the less than factual reporting, and claims that seem to be levied against me by Brianna Wu, I intend to address them here.

Trolls keep outsmarting anti-harassment tools. Will Twitter’s new system actually work?

For the last three years, the game developer has been a frequent target of Gamergate, a rabid online subcommunity that protests political correctness by harassing women and minorities online. But this time, she faced trolling she’d never seen before: spambots that created and promoted fake scandals about her.

I am not in gamergate.

I didn’t even really know about it until January of 2016.  I am aware that it raged on since 2014, and that the abuse scandal has devastated Twitter.

The bots were a 4chan creation, Wu said, and they would tweet the same messages over and over again, like “‘Offensive in Every Way’ Brianna Wu (D?) Is a Racist.” They spread the hoaxes by spamming Massachusetts hashtags like #MaPoli and #BoPoli. When she reported these accounts and tweets to Twitter, Twitter said it found one account to be in violation of its policies. But the account is still active, she said, and the harassment has continued.

I am not in 4 chan or a 4 channer, though my blog “Offensive In Every Way Brianna Wu…” is referenced.

#MaPoli and #bopoli is the twitter hashtag for Massachusetts Politics and Boston Politics.  It’s an effective way to reach the electorate on twitter.

From Twitter’s website.  Apparently though if you are Brianna Wu, you are protected from truth being told about your political campaign by Support.

  • People use the hashtag symbol (#) before a relevant keyword or phrase in their Tweet to categorize those Tweets and help them show more easily in Twitter search.

Brianna Wu’s game, Revolution 60 was reviewed by a WoC reviewer as “Offensive in Every Way”

Brianna Wu has called Representative Stephen Lynch a “Republican” even though Brianna is a former fundraiser for the GOP who spent years working for Trent Lott (R, MS) I question her ties to the Democratic party.

I believe, from review of her tweets and her game, which was reviewed by a WoC reviewer that Brianna Wu is a racist.

I also am not a 4 channer, nor do I create nor run bots.

“As far as the kind of trolling I expected when running for Congress, I expected it to be a return to Gamergate, and it has been,” Wu said in an email on Wednesday. “It’s an attempt to assassinate my character with local voters.”

Tell the truth about a politician who does not live in District 8 appears to be impossible on Twitter.

I stand by my blog, I have appealed with Twitter and once again written to my Senator, Dianne Feinstein, and contacted the San Francisco DA’s office, consumers mediation dept.

I cannot believe that Twitter would apparently suspend me based on the lies of a politician who apparently is trying to hide her sordid past from the public.

Interestingly Brianna Wu has boasted of her backchannel contacts with Twitter, and ability to have people suspended.

Note:  Brianna Wu deleted her tweets on 12/21/21016.  However many have been archived for years.

Apparently tweeting to a woman running for public office is “harassment” on twitter.

Who knew?

Brianna Wu “works with Twitter.”   She is position to work in “backchannel.”

Klout, which has long shared my blogs shared the blog Brianna Wu complains about.  They have shared my content for a number of years.

This is just more censorship and quite frankly abuse of our Democracy by Twitter.

I did write about Donald Trump a bit, noting the rise of racism and xenophobia in the far right in July, 2015.

Apparently I can’t write about one Democrat while pretty much supporting another on Twitter.

Truth no longer matters on Twitter.  At least if your politics aren’t Brianna Wu’s.

I hope they unsuspend me.

It seems clear that Brianna Wu has the power at Twitter.
